I​ntellectual Property Paralegal – Cayman Islands

A leading law firm in the Cayman Islands is seeking an Intellectual Property Paralegal to join its expanding Intellectual Property (IP) team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled IP professional to gain offshore experience in a dynamic and well-respected firm.

About the Role

This role offers exposure to both contentious and non-contentious IP matters, with a particular emphasis on trade mark prosecution and filing. The successful candidate will work closely with the firm's experienced lawyers, assisting with a wide range of IP-related work, including brand protection, enforcement, and litigation support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with trade mark filings, prosecution, renewals, oppositions, and portfolio management.

  • Conducting trade mark clearance searches and preparing reports.

  • Supporting lawyers in contentious IP matters, including litigation and enforcement proceedings.

  • Assisting with copyright and design registrations.

  • Conducting legal research and preparing legal documents, reports, and client correspondence.

  • Liaising with clients, registries, and international counsel on IP matters.

  • Maintaining accurate case records and managing deadlines.

Candidate Profile

  • Prior experience in trade mark prosecution and filing is essential.

  • Experience in both contentious and non-contentious IP work is desirable.

  • Strong research, analytical, and drafting skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently when required.

  • Previous experience in an offshore, international, or common law jurisdiction is advantageous but not essential.
